GPT respects the privacy and security of its users. The goal of GPT is to provide GPT user’s a personalized Internet experience that delivers the data, information, resources, and services that are most relevant and helpful to them. In order to achieve this goal, GPT sometimes collects information during users’ visits to understand what differentiates users from each of the millions of other users.
In order to demonstrate GPT’s commitment to users’ privacy, GPT has prepared this statement disclosing the privacy practices for the entire GPT site. Users will learn what personally identifiable information of users is collected, how and when GPT might use user’s information, how GPT protects user’s information, who has access to user’s information, and how user can correct any inaccuracies in the information. |
What Information is collected: |
GPT collects certain information from and about its users in three ways – directly from the user, from GPT’s Web server logs, and with cookies.
User-Supplied Information: When a user fills up a contact or other form, GPT may ask the user for their name, e-mail address, and some other personal information. The more accurate information a user volunteers, the better GPT is able to answer the user’s needs.
Server Log Information: When a user visits an Internet Web site, user discloses certain information about them, such as user’s Internet [Protocol] (IP) address, the time of users visit, and the referring location. GPT, like many other sites, may record this basic information about visits to its site.
Cookies: In order to offer and provide a customized, personal service, GPT may use cookies to store and help track user’s information. For example, GPT may use cookies to help remind them who users are and to deliver content and services based on user’s account information.
Cookies are simply pieces of information that are sent to user’s browser from a Web server and stored on user’s computer’s hard drive. The use of cookies is relatively standard and user will likely find them used on most other major Web sites. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If a user prefers, such user may reset their browser either to notify them when they receive a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. A user should understand that certain areas of many sites may not function properly if they set their browser to not accept cookies or if user rejects a cookie.
Although GPT tries to protect user’s personal information, GPT cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information user transmits to GPT and user do so at their own risk. Users are also solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords they set up and/or any account information. |
How and when information is used: |
GPT may use information in different ways, depending on the type of information:
User-supplied information: This information is used for purposes such as personalization and verification and responding to a business requirement.
Web Server Logs: This information helps GPT identify which areas of their site are of interest to their visitors.
Cookies: GPT use "cookies" to let users use GPT’s services more easily and to let GPT keep track of certain statistical information that helps GPT improve their site. Cookies allow GPT to save preferences for user so that user won't have to re-enter them the next time user visit. |
How GPT Protects User information: |
The privacy and protection of user’s personal information is vitally important to us. GPT does not make personal information available to any third parties without user’s permission.
User’s access to some services and content is password protected. GPT recommends that user does not divulge the password to anyone. GPT will never ask any user for the password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. User should not disclose the Username / log-in id and/or password to others. In addition, if applicable, the user should remember to sign out of their GPT account or service at the end of each session. The User may also wish to close their browser window when they have finished their work. This is to ensure that others cannot access user’s personal information and correspondence if user shares a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, despite GPT’ best endeavours to protect users personal information, GPT cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information a user transmits to GPT, or to or from GPT online products or services. The Users transmit all such information at their own risk. However, once GPT receives users’ transmission, GPT shall make its best endeavours to ensure its security on their systems. |
Who has access to the information: |
Except as described below, GPT will not willfully disclose any individually identifiable information about its users to any third party without first receiving a user’s permission. When users are at the GPT site and asked for personal information, Users share that information with GPT alone.
GPT may disclose personal information when they believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the rights or property of GPT. |
